 1-1 ADULT COUNSELLING

Working together, we can unpick your issues in a non-judgemental supportive way through a series of Person-centred counselling sessions. it can help to alleviate distress and anxiety of everyday life, help you through a difficult situation or unlock unknown, and damaging patterns of behaviour. Therapy can also help to heal the turmoil of a difficult childhood.

CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE

Childhood can be the time when the first signs of difficulty emerge. Supporting a child who is struggling with their mental health can help them to overcome their problems, understand their world a little better, rebuild confidence and develop positive self-esteem. It can provide them with lifelong skills to equip them with the tools needed to manage future problems.

IN-SCHOOL COUNSELLING
ANXIETY

There are many benefits to providing in-school counselling. Working alongside the school's pastoral team, we can provide weekly 1-1 counselling sessions in your child's school during the school day.

 

Accessing counselling this way is often the best way to deliver meaningful support, without the difficulties of parents having to arrange time off work through the day, it has the least disruption to learning for the child, and they are already on a place they are familiar with.

Anxiety is a natural response to fear.everyone feels anxious sometimes,and it can be a helpful motivating emotion. Sometimes, when anxiety is high it can impact on ouir daily lives. Counselling can help you to understand the cause of your anxiety and change damaging thought patterns to healthy thought patterns.

LOW MOOD & DEPRESSION

Depression can be a natural reaction to traumatic events, such as bereavement. relationship break ups and illness. Sometimes there is no obvious trigger.

Therapy can help you to explore the root cause of your low mood, help you to examine and alter your pattern of thinking and restore belief that things can improve, leading to your depression lifting and life feeling good once again.

CHILDHOOD TRAUMA

Many of our views about ourselves, others and the world are formed in our early childhood. If your childhood was traumatic, stressful or abusive, you may still be holding on to false core  beliefs which are damaging and making life dificult.

 

Counselling can help with this by revisiting early life adverse exeriences in a safe and supported trusted relationship. Core beliefs can be examined, discarded and replaced with helpful and healthy beliefs. Leading to a happier and more fulfilled life.

BEREAVEMENT

We all lose people we love at some point in our lives, and overcoming those losses can be very difficult. Having someone who will listen empathically, provide an opportunity to think about and  talk about you lost ove one can help to ease the pain.

 

Sometimes bereavement can also bring other problems as it leads to big life changes and other difficulties, therapy can be a place where these other issues can be aired without the fear of being judged or the worry of being aburden to someone.

Looked after Children

Looked-after children, whether in foster care or residential care have a much higher risk of having a diagnosible mental health problem.

​

Dealing with the problems they have faced which lead them to being in care, whilst also coming to terms with huge changes can often be overwhelming.

Having a trusted and supportive counsellor to explore thoughts and feelings about their past and present life, as well their worries and fears for the  future can be life-changing. This counsellibg can sometime be paid for through their educational  LAC funding.
